Some girls want guys with blue eyes. I want
a runner.
It’s not the only criteria, but it is up
there. The guy has to be faster than
me. I don’t want to be the one waiting at the finish line. A guy who is slower
than me is a turnoff.
I know this narrows down my selection. If
a good guy comes along, but he is not a runner or is slower than me, would I be
attracted to him? Well, he can take up running. He can do some speedwork. I guess I’d
want him to have the commonality prior to meeting.
For instance, there is a guy who finished
his third marathon in Delaware in 4:19, which is slower than my predicted
marathon time. I was turned off.
But he wants to do a marathon in all 50 states. Hmmm…… that’s a good bucket
list idea that I’d want to add.
Should I give him a shot or run away?
Keepin’ it real,

Well.... you could be just a LITTLE bit more open-minded. I'd want a guy to be in good physical health and have some kind of sports hobby to stay in shape, but he doesn't have to be a runner. My judgement zone is in video gaming--I find that to be a huge turnoff. I try to tell myself that a guy could be a great guy and still play video games casually. But it's a tough hurdle to get past.
ReplyDeleteI want a runner because I am a runner and I want to share that with him-- going to races, training, etc. It's a value of mine and I'm not too flexible in that area to let it slide. I know it slims the pool but I would settle for someone who plays soccer or another sport. I am not looking for a professional, just an athletic person who participates in some activity. But a runner is my top choice!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Skeptic, that physical health and a sports hobby are really important. however, I can definitely see why you want a man who can run faster than you.... it's the same way I want a man who earns more money than me!
ReplyDeleteThis guy's 50 states marathon goal shows he's ambitious and athletic - go for it!
